Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Part One
The best of the series so far and almost the end of the story. Harry and his friends are on the run and trying to find a way to finally defeat (the fantastic Ralph Fiennes) Lord Voldemort. This is a darker, more grown up outing for Harry Potter. It has more adult tones and actually gets its PG-13 rating for a reason. It was great in IMAX and has room for repeat viewings. We've watched these kids grow into reasonably good actors. Its got some laughs and plenty of tears. The Deathly Hallows is a far stretch from Sorcerers Stone and is filled with great big screen action. If your a fan of the books or movies or both than don't miss this on the big screen. Can't wait for Part 2.
Vampire Weekend "Holiday"
You may have heard this song on a Honda commercial lately. Although not intentionally a holiday-time song it does have a reminiscent Christmas holiday feel to it. Vampire Weekend hits a home run with this catchy hit with a bit of a Beach Boys vibe.
"Parks and Recreation" Season 2 NBC
Wow. This show is everything I look for in a weekly sitcom. Amy Poehler is pitch perfect comedic genius as Leslie Knope. She's your basic everyday government official with upstanding morals surrounded by less than moral co-workers. Hilarity is ever present and Season 2 was a big step closer to comedy gold. I am anxiously awaiting season 3 which will air mid season. Pay close attention to Nick Offerman as Ron "F***ing" Swanson. A mustache never looked so badass.
